Today is a bittersweet day.
Today is Rueben’s last day with Newman’s Ambulance after 33 years!
We’re so thankful for you, Rueben!
He has been a blessing to us and to our community.
Rueben, you will be missed. Thank you for caring for patients so beautifully. You have forever made an impact on our company and the many people that you come in contact with.
Words from Rueben on his last day with us:
“I have my cup of coffee with me this morning and in a few minutes I will be pulling into the station for my last shift. 24 hours from now my shift will end, and I will head home which will bring to an end my participation in the Emergency Medical Services System in my community for the last time, as I begin my long anticipated retirement. I would like to take the opportunity to thank Newman’s Ambulance Service for allowing me to work for them and provided me with the platform to serve the people of Mobile County. I would also like to thank all my former partners for putting up with me, they deserve appreciation for a job well done. There is a time when you know that you have done all you can do and it is time to step aside to allow the next generation to assume the daunting task of serving that same community I served. My last thoughts to pass on that I have learned over the years in doing this job is to show empathy toward the people you serve with professionalism, keep yourself safe, and remember not to allow your ego to prevent you to ask for help when needed. With that being said, I wish you all the best in whatever endeavors you choose and my best wishes and thanks.”
