Medical Biller
Requirements and tasks:
- Process cash, check, credit & debit card payments using our Gateway POS system.
- Knowledge of ICD-10 Coding, HCFA Forms, HCPCS coding, and modifiers.
- Must have excellent customer service skills and an outgoing personality.
- Must be able to manage multiple phone lines.
- Able to create bank deposit and able to balance a cash log.
- Proficient with data entry.
- Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
- Must be proficient in scanning, filing, and organizing folders.
- Familiar with Medicare Part A & B.
- Familiar with Medical Necessity form.
- Must adhere to HIPAA policies and procedures.
- Works well with others and can follow instructions of manager.
- Schedules non-emergent transports via phone by patients or other medical facilities.
- Processes attorney's request for patient records.
- Able to review Patient Care Reports for long periods of time on a computer.
- Type letters of business on company letterhead.
- Familiar and able to depict Explanation of Payments and Explanation of Benefits statements sent from insurance providers.
- Knowledge of Google Maps.
- Familiar with Mobile metro area and outlying areas for scheduling purposes.
- Proficient with email and fax.
- Able to interact professionally with a patient account in collection status.
